Our most celebrated Dasain festival organised by NZNS on 21st of October, at Freemans’s Bay community Centre in Auckland was a cheerful and culturally rich event as every year. The event received additional significance with the attendance of Members of Parliament (MP) from various political parties and special guests which suggest a recognition and support for the Nepali community’s cultural celebration at a broader societal level, fostering a sense of inclusivity and unity. The event was inaugurated with the welcome speech by the President Dr. Santosh Bhandari, followed by short remarks from honourable MPs and special guests. The event included dance performances and live music incorporating both traditional and contemporary elements to cater a broad audience. It was great to see the audience come forward to dance including the MPs and special guests all joining the crowd in the live music performance. The culinary aspect of the celebration was highlighted by the presence of delicious food, offering a taste of authentic Nepali cuisine. Overall, the annual Dasain celebration 2023 was a delightful event creating yet another culturally enriched experience to the participants and the attendees
