Nepal Festival 2023

Nepal Festival 2023

The festival was organised on 25th of March 2023 at Te Komititanga (Heart of The City), Auckland collaborating with Non-Resident Nepalese Association, New Zealand and with the support of various Nepalese community organisations in New Zealand.

Minister for Auckland Hon. Michael Wood inaugurated the program as the chief guest. Other notable dignitaries present in the festival were Minister of Stastics Dr Deborah Russell, parliamentarian Melissa Lee, Helen White, Simeon Brown, Vanushi Walters, Chris Penk, and Karen Chhour among others. The guests and participants were formally welcomed by President Dr Santosh Bhandari where as a vote of thanks was delivered by NRNA  President Mr Uddhav Adhikary.

This year the programme was organised in a new venue - Te Komititanga (Heart of The City). The venue well suited to reach out more people in the wider communities. Because if this we saw a substantial increase in the number of visitors during the festival.

Cultural performances by Nepali groups not only from Auckland but also outside of Auckland, non-Nepali performers, the hard working people operating food stalls and volunteers all contributed towards the success of the day.
